How Not to Die Alone by Richard Roper. I’m not really into this and I’m trying to decide if I want to finish it. It’s an ARC from NetGalley I requested, so I hate to DNF it, but if I don’t want to pick it up again after a couple of other books then I’ll probably call it.

Just One of the Groomsmen by Cindi Madsen. This author is sometimes hit or miss for me, but I am absolutely loving this so far. So cute and romantic.

What did you recently finish reading?

Bridesmaids by Zara Stoneley. Though I had some issues, I did really enjoy this one. Look for my review on it next week.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m not sure yet, but I’ve really been in a Contemporary/Romance mood lately, so it will probably be something in that genre.

  1. I am reading Lost Roses by Martha Hall Kelly. I wanted to read it to help me decide if I want to go see her or not. I loved her first book and I like that both are based on the true story of the Ferriday’s. I started Before I Knew Him but set it aside for My Lovely Wife because it is due back at the library first. I really like both so far.

    • Ooh My Lovely Wife! I love that one. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I liked My Lovely Wife, but didn’t really love it like I hoped I would. Did you decide on Martha Hall Kelly? Is your son interested in that one?

  2. I have the same issue with Cindi Madsen’s books and feel the same about this one. I hope she turns it into a series and we get books about the friends. I hope it finishes strong for you!

  3. It’s so hard to finally declare that a book is a DNF, but sometimes that’s what you have to do. I haven’t done that in a while, but it does happen. I had to power through 2 books this week, (OMG, as I’m typing this you are commenting on my blog! haha!). The first was The Glass Room by Ann Cleeves, which was for my mystery club at work and the second was Before the Fall by Noah Hawley. I liked both but Before the Fall was really great!

    • LOL we are on the same blogging schedule! I used to never be able to DNF a book, but the last few years I’m a lot better at it. I still hate doing it on ARCs, though. I want to check out that Ann Cleeves book!

      • Yes, ARCs – you feel like you need to give it the full shot, but everything we do is a time commitment. I fantasize about being able to read and blog all day, but I know if I had all that time, I would need to do other things as well…

  4. I haven’t decided yet. I may wait til the day of and see how tired I am lol. My son doesn’t really want to go but I think he will if I ask nicely. 🙂

      • If I could only pick one, I would choose Alafair. I have read and liked her for awhile. I already bought her book but I haven’t bought MHK’s yet because I got it from the library. I don’t want to buy it and commit myself to going lol.

      • I was literally just typing a reply that I just remembered you already bought Alafair’s book haha. It does make more sense to go to that one (and I’m also more interested in her than MHK). I still need to look up if there’s any restaurants or something we could meet up by that other library, since it will be closed by the time we’re done with Alafair.
