What did you recently finish reading?

Baking Me Crazy (Donner Bakery #1) by Karla Sorensen. This ended up being 3 stars for me. There were many things I liked about it, but the way the main character reacted to things really rubbed me the wrong way.

Outsider (Kate Burkholder #12) by Linda Castillo. This was another solid installment of the series. I’m looking forward to the next one!

What are you currently reading?

Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. I haven’t had a lot of time to read over the past couple days so I’m not very far in yet, but so far I’m loving it.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I just got This is How I Lied by Heather Gudenkauf from the library.

  1. I just finished A Good Marriage and The Safe Place. I gave them both 3.5 stars. They were good not great mysteries. I am rereading Twilight and so far I am wondering why I liked it so much lol.

    • I haven’t read either of those books, but I did have my eye on The Safe Place. I’m sorry there were pretty middle of the road for you. And lol, I have the same thoughts whenever I try to re-read Twilight. I usually can’t make it past the first book. Even knowing that, I’m still pretty excited for Midnight Sun.

      • I am excited for Midnight Sun too! It’s why I decided to do a Twilight reread. I am hoping MS will not disappoint.

  2. I love hearing that you’re loving Anxious People so far. It reminds me that I still need to read Us Against You, though. 😦 I don’t think I’m in the mood for it right now, though.

  3. I’m in the middle of Anxious People and need to get back to it 🙈, also just loving it that you are a fellow Kate Burkholder reader 😀

    • I’ve started working 40 hours a week again, so my reading time is more limited now haha. But I am excited to read more of Anxious People. I’m enjoying it so far. What are you thinking of it?

And I love Kate Burkholder! I don’t understand why I don’t hear more about her. The author is such a nice person, too!

      • Anxious People just confirms how intricate his writing is, BUT I’m not LOVING it yet. It’s different from Beartown and Ove, it’s hard to explain. I might even wait for the audiobook and listen to it again.

      • Oh, and I agree with you on Linda Howard, with so many thriller and mystery readers out there, and bloggers too, I’m surprised I don’t see it being read and talked about more.
