WWW Wednesday is hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
What did you recently finish reading?
I was so excited to get approved for an ARC of The Heir Affair, so I decided to re-read The Royal We before jumping into the sequel. I loved it just as much the second time around and The Heir Affair easily became my favorite book of the year so far.
What are you currently reading?
Teardrop Shot by Tijan. I actually started this several days ago and only got about 5% in before other things demanded my attention. I wasn’t really feeling it yet, but I’m going to give it another try.
What do you think you’ll read next?
My hold for House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas just came in, but I also just noticed that it’s over 800 pages, so I’m not sure I have the patience for that nonsense right now.
Crescent City looks so good. Can’t wait to see what you think! Happy reading ❤️
Thank you!
I liked Tear Drop Shot. I can see why maybe it wouldn’t be your fave of hers. A little less drama and more adult contemporary maybe?
I think I’m mostly having trouble connecting with the main character right now. I’m only a couple chapters in, but I don’t find her likable at all.
Yeah, she takes a bit to grow on you.
800 pages? You’re going to have to pace yourself. LOL!
Right? haha. I get twitchy when a book crosses 400 pages.
I felt the same way about those 800 pages of House of Earth and Blood. I put it back on my shelf until I know I’m up for it.
I have a feeling it’s going to go back to the library without me ever opening it. But I’m not going to return it early yet just in case the mood strikes.
Haha! I ended up buying it. It’s been sitting on my shelf taunting me.
The page count is one of the reasons I’ve decided to pass up on Sarah J. Maas’ newest for now myself. 😉 xx
Especially after reading other books by her and knowing they tend to be much longer than they need to be.
Oh yes, I’ve had that feeling before with her books too. xx
