Most Disappointing Reads of 2019

I feel like 2019 was an overall disappointing reading year for me. There were several books I was really looking forward to and they just let me down. The following are the books I had the highest expectations for and ended up giving only 2 or 3 stars.

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo

The Killing Tide by Dani Pettrey

99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne

Life and Other Inconveniences by Kristan Higgins

Woman in the Water by Katerina Diamond

The Map from Here to There by Emery Lord

The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern

  1. Haven’t read any of these, but wanted to try Ninth House… not sure if i had a lucky escape or what 😀 I think i’m going to give it a go, because i’m sort of curious but i have a feeling it won’t be my sort of book either.

  2. I totally should have put that Kristan Higgins book in most disappointing on my list. I forgot about it. Everyone hated 99 Percent Mine, but I didn’t mind it. I think that’s because I went in knowing people didn’t like it as much as her first book.

  4. Ugh, 99 Percent Mine was such a let down. I’m not even adding her next book to my TBR, yet. I have been seeing the title on Goodreads but I’m so hesitant to even try it!
