Oh June, where did you go? I took my first vacation from work since starting my job last October. My sister and her family from Canada visited and we also spent a couple days at my brother’s, so I got to spend time with both of my nieces, which is always amazing. I also signed a lease on a new place to live. I gave up rather quickly on buying a place, due to there being pretty much nothing I liked in my price range. I looked at a couple different places to rent and ultimately decided on one. After signing the lease I immediately regretted it, but it’s too late now. I don’t move in until August, so at least I have plenty of time to pack.
Book of the Month Recommendation
Are you signed up for Book of the Month – YA? If you are, I definitely recommend Past Perfect Life by Elizabeth Eulberg. I was contacted by BOTM and asked if I would be interested in writing a recommendation for it (I had already read it, via NetGalley). You can see my rec HERE! There’s also a link below to my full review.
6 Year Blogiversary!
Once again, my blogiversary snuck up on me. In June, I hit 6 years of blogging. I honestly never thought I would stick with it so long, but I have read so many wonderful books because of it and made some wonderful friends (even if I’ll never actually meet most of you).

Thank you!
Happy 6th Anniversary! Hopefully once you move into your new place you will love it. Or is the problem not wanting to pack and move? That is quite a job.
Thanks! Packing and moving does give me great anxiety! But the place ended up being more money that I wanted to play and some things in the lease terms make me a little nervous, and I just wish I hadn’t gone with this decision. But, I am trying to think of the positive things, like being able to actually have enough counter space in the kitchen to do some real cooking.
I hope the move goes smoothly! Why did you regret it after you signed? Are you close to where you live now? Glad you enjoyed your vacation!!
BOTM YA? I didn’t know there was a YA version! I’ll have to look into it. I gave up my BOTM subscription because I wasn’t ever reading the books. I can’t keep up.
Thanks! I basically regret every major life decision I make, as soon as I make it. It’s a little more money than I wanted to pay and some things in the lease seem a little sketchy. And there was another apartment I could have gotten for less money and I almost even liked it more, but the landlord at that one was SUPER sketchy. He was real nice in person, but he tried to get me to put down a desposit before I saw it and then when I couldn’t see it right away he said he’d have to move onto other applicants and when I said “ok, do what you have to do” he majorly backpedaled. Anyways, the new place is not far from where I am. A little further north, not far from the Strip. I didn’t know there was a dedicated BOTM YA either. I can see how a subscription could get really unwieldy haha.
Moving and finding a decent place is really hard. I’m sorry it’s been a pain for you!!
Good luck on your move. I bet you will end up liking your rental. If not, at least it’s a rental and you can choose to move later. It sounds like you had a great vacation with your family. I am going to go check out you rec now! And happy 6 years!
Thank you! I’m hoping it goes better than I am anticipating. I had nightmares about moving last night 😬 I did have a great time with my family visiting, though!
Congratulations on 6 years of blogging Stephanie! Here’s to another 6 more! 🍷🎉
Thank you!
You had a good reading month! And Congratulations on Six years of Blogging! Hope you have a great July!
Thank you!
Happy sixth blogiversary!! I hope your new place will grow on you once you are all settled in. Have a wonderful July! xx
Thank you! Fingers crossed!
Congratulations on 6 years of blogging – our blogs are the same age! June went fast, didn’t it?
Thank you! Our little blogs have grown up together haha. June just flew by! I’m kind of hoping July does, as well, to be honest. I’m already ready for Fall haha.
That’s true – they did! I always enjoy seeing what you’re reading and have learned from you how to express my opinion when I didn’t really like a book.
It’s so fun that you got to leave the OFFICIAL review for Past Perfect Life! Hopefully your new apartment grows on you. Have you ever read the book The Nesting Place? It was one that really encouraged me about decorating and settling into a home, even if it isn’t going to be your “forever” home, and even though I’m basically the worst decorator ever haha
I was pretty excited about it! I wish they would’ve linked to my blog or something, though. And thanks! I haven’t read The Nesting Place, but I will check it out. I’m not really a decorator, either. I have two pictures hanging up right now and that’s it (and one of them is one I painted myself at one of those wine and paint nights haha).
I think what I enjoyed most about The Nesting Place is how a lot of it is about embracing where you are in life instead of worrying about where you aren’t. It was both encouraging and challenging. It also led to us remodeling our dining nook into a pantry, so be careful haha
Embracing where I am instead of worrying about where I’m not is definitely something I need to work on!
