This week’s Top 5 Wednesday, hosted by the Good Reads group, is: Books You Want to Read Before 2019: Our Goodreads goals are quickly closing in. What are you prioritizing for the end of the year? I surpassed my Good Reads goal awhile ago (yay me!). Lately I’ve been having a hard time to find time to read, so I’m going to prioritize the library books I want to read before they expire – and also the ARCS I’ve recently been approved for.
1. Pride by Ibi Zoboi
2. Marriage of Inconvenience by Penny Reid
3. Kiss Her Goodbye by Susan Gee
4. For Better and Worse by Margot Hunt
5. I Owe You One by Sophie Kinsella
For Better and Worse sounds like one for my list ;-). I’d like to read The Chalk Man before her next novel already becomes all the hype because that would make me feel even more as if I’m missing out on this author 🙂 Oh and The Kiss Quotiënt for the romance genre :-).
I read a really great review on For Better and Worse and am excited to get to it! I actually didn’t love The Chalk Man like everyone else seemed to, but I’m reading her second book right now and am enjoying it much more. I haven’t read The Kiss Quotient yet, either. I hope you get to them all!
I just downloaded some ARCs by some of my favorite authors so I’m stoked about reading them before the year is done even though they won’t be published until next year. Good luck getting these read. I hope you enjoy them all!
Thank you! Getting ARCS from your favorite authors is basically the best thing ever. I would be reading those before everything else, too!
Great list! I just got the new Kinsella. I really hope it’s not cheesy.
Well, it’s going to be a little cheesy haha. But I’m looking forward to it!
Lee County Elegy is one I need to read and after that, I will just concentrate on Christmas novellas. December is so busy, I’m lucky to find time for reading anything except recipes.
Yes, I want to find some cute Christmas Romance books to read!
Don’t read Alaskan Holiday by Debbie Macomber. We just read it for book club and it seemed like it was thrown together just to get a book out in time for Christmas reading. Everyone seems to feel the same.
Thanks for the warning! I will steer clear of it.
I have For Better and Worse on my list. I read Kiss Her Goodbye and enjoyed it! I hope you do too!
Thanks! I am looking forward to both of them!
I hope you love Pride ❤ 😀
Thanks! I hope so, too!
Marriage of Inconvenience was good! I hope you love it when you get to it.
Thanks! I haven’t read the rest of the series yet, but this one sounds like it would be one I enjoy (I think I decided that after reading a review you wrote?).
Marriage of Inconvenience and the new Kinsella book sounds good. By the end of the year I would like to have Pieces of Her and Crooked Kingdom read.
I want you to read those, too! I thought you started Crooked Kingdom awhile ago?
I did but I didn’t make it very far. It is hard knowing she killed off a character I really like. Reading the chapters from that characters pov is difficult so I put it down. I need to finish it so I am trying to make it a priority read before the end of the year. We shall see…
This is why you shouldn’t read spoilers haha
I know. 🙂 That one was a no win for me. I would have been really mad if the death had been a surprise. I say don’t kill any main characters and I would be happy.
Agreed! If I’m reading fantasy I don’t exactly need it to be realistic, so I will never understand the people who complain that it’s not “realistic” that everyone lives through something.
I’ve heard mixed reviews about Pride by Ibi Zoboi but I hope you love it! Happy reading! 🙂
Thank you! I keep seeing mixed reviews on it, as well. But with a cover so beautiful I have to try it!
