This week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the Broke and the Bookish, is: Top Ten Books I Can’t Believe I Haven’t/Want To Read From X Genre (for example I feel like I’m pretty well read in contemporary YA but there are some STAPLES I can’t believe I haven’t read. Or if you just want to books you WANT to read in a particular genre..not necessarily long overdue). I’ve decided to go with Top Ten Books on my TBR I can’t believe I haven’t read yet, regardless of genre. These are some of the oldest books on my Good Reads TBR shelf that are all still ones I really want to read.
1. Velocity (Karen Vail #3) by Alan Jacobson. I read the first 2 books when they were free for Nook and I was like, dying, for this one. I put it on my TBR on Good Reads on 6/2/12.
2. The Giver by Lois Lowry. Added 6/3/12.
3. Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding. Added June 15, 2012.
4. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger. Added June 15, 2012.
5. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Added June 15, 2012.
6. Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Added June 15, 2012.
7. Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. Added June 15, 2012.
8. Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. Added June 15, 2012.
9. Wool by Hugh Howey. Added September 24, 2012
10. The Unexpected Gift by Berna King. Added May 11, 2013.
I understand. My list is long and distinguished.
OMG stop what you’re doing and read WOOL right now!
Lots of classics!
I need to read The Giver as well! Lol
Something Borrowed and Bridget Jones’s Diary are two of my favorite books. The follow up to Something Borrowed, Something Blue is even better! I read The Giver for the first time last fall and was a little disappointed. The movie expanded on the plot a bit more and, while I’m sure I’ll be shot for saying this, I actually liked it better.
That is surprising about liking The Giver movie better than the book. I haven’t watched it yet, as I wanted to read the book first. I have however seen the movies for Bridget Jones and Something Borrowed which is why I want to read the books!
The Bridget Jones’s movies are fantastic. I love them. I wasn’t crazy about the Something Borrowed movie though.
I actually quite enjoyed The Giver! Did you know there is a quartet? I gobbled up all four books 😛 They’re very subtle and lighthearted
I only just recently realized there were sequels. I’m glad to hear you like them! I really need to get on it already!
The Giver has been on my To-Read list for a long time as well 🙂
The Great Gatsby would be on my list too. I’m curious about it, and I’ve read an odd extract here and there. Like I said, more curiosity than anything.
I was never really that interested in it for the longest time, but a couple years ago I read a book that referenced it a lot. Then of course there was the movie (that I haven’t seen yet either).
I haven’t seen the movie either. I always like to read the book first.
